I've been trying to play Rubick lately and unfortunately for me its getting banned in 50+% of games. I've been tracking whether its the auto-banner or players through Stratz.com and it is exclusively the auto-banner hitting rubick. I expect it to get hit sometimes since its the 21st most picked hero in DotA, but at the same time the top picked hero Pudge is getting through a lot more than Rubick. The part that makes me think its bugged is that the auto-banner isn't recording some of it's bans. This game for example I know had Rubick banned but it doesn't show up on Stratz. It could be a bug with Stratz, but I don't think its that far of a stretch to assume the auto-banner that was implemented a year and a half ago could have developed some bugs since then.
It's hard to figure out how the system actually works and what data sets its referencing (I'm assuming its pulling straight from the API). I'm going to count how many heroes get banned (should only be 12) in my next games and see if the console shows how the auto-ban feature works in more detail. If anyone has documentation on how it works I'd appreciate it, I can't find hardly anything.
Regardless if it's bugged, I'd like to see it reworked. It seems like it would be better to have the auto-banner choose it's bans based on the most banned heroes, not picked. I might actually have a better chance of getting rubick if I ban it myself, so its a 50/50 chance and is excluded from the auto-ban selection.
