I've been looking at some machine learning dota builds lately and I've started to notice they go a little off the wire and get stuck in loops of like building multiple daedalus and multiple satanics. This has started to make me wonder if the lifesteal from Satanic is supposed to stack. It's marked as a "passive". The wiki says lifesteal stacks additively. But I see no mention of whether this only applies to lifesteal from different sources, or lifesteal from the same item. Either way, I couldn't find a definitive answer on this. So I set out to do a little of my own research...
In Demo, I've noticed that if I have > 2 Satanics I fairly consistently (but not always) seem to heal twice per attack. There is an occasional attack that only heals Drow for one instance of 30-ish health. Something you can see at the top of the log here, but most cases seem to apply two separate heal procs for about 30 damage each. Something that would be around 25% of the lifesteal I'm supposed to have.
But any more Satanics than that and I still only heal twice. I think I seem to be more likely to heal twice per attack like this, I've seen far fewer instances of just one heal proc.
And just as a baseline comparison, with one Satanic, I only ever heal once, per attack.
So what the fuck is actually going on here? Am I supposed to be getting one single 25% heal proc no matter what? One proc per Satanic? Why does 2 Satanics heal me twice? Why does 4 only also heal me twice?
Is this an error in the combat log?
A potentially game breaking exploit?
Can someone tell me how this is supposed to interact?
EDIT: for further completeness, the double proc also seems to apply to unholy rage.
